I invite you to discover the ÃŽle d'Yeu by bicycle at the end of June, before the arrival of the summer holidaymakers. In the heart of the island or along the wild coast, through the moorland where paths wind between heather and honeysuckle bushes, stone walls, meadows, and undergrowth, we will encounter low, whitewashed houses, dolmens, and standing stones, all graced by the flight of seagulls. We will sketch a mill or a chapel here, the Old Castle there; rocks and dunes, headlands and small harbors that punctuate the landscape, not forgetting the beach flowers that perfume the air as they emerge from the pine woods. And above all, the sea, its ever-changing effects and its splashes!
Stay from Saturday, June 13th at 5 pm to Friday, June 19th at 10 am. Workshop from Sunday, June 14th to Thursday, June 18th, for a total of 5 days.
Price: €390
Workshop content: Drawing, quick sketching from life, and watercolor painting, its light and transparencies, color mixing and harmony, values and contrasts, and perspective. This will be explored through a variety of themes and subjects, including sketchbook page composition and layout with text and images.
Beginner to advanced levels. The workshop is limited to about ten participants to ensure personalized instruction. Beginners are welcome, and we will cover the essential technical foundations of drawing and watercolor. For more advanced participants, the focus will be on adapting to working outdoors and changing conditions, improving speed of execution, developing personal expression, and achieving independent work.
Transportation on site: Getting around the 4 km long and 10 km wide island will be by e-bike (electric-assist bicycle). The island prioritizes sustainable modes of transport, and cycling will allow us to fully appreciate its exceptional natural beauty, with its diverse landscapes and rich flora. For a more convivial experience, we can cycle together.
